For each of our values, we have a bible story to help us understand what it means to live that value in everyday life. Our values are explored in detail below, giving our key Christian story, which gives a biblical example of how to show this value and an explanation of our expectations and how we can live our values in our everyday lives. There is an explanation of what these values mean to our school.

The parable of the Talents
Summary In this parable, we see the importance of using our blessings wisely and sharing with others. This doesn’t just refer to monetary possessions or physical belongings, but to the time and talents that God gives all of us. By sharing this parable with children, we communicate the importance of recognizing that our abilities have purpose and value in many ways.
We want all of our children at Christ Church to show love, humility and to gain success in their lives. |
By showing wisdom, listening, increasing learning and with the guidance of Jesus we can be successful.
The kind of success Jesus talked about was much more substantial because it was spiritual. Spiritual success is not about how many things you have but how much love you express, how much humility and obedience to God you have in your life. |

Nativity story
Summary In this story Mary was very pregnant and was travelling to a strange town and needed to rest. Luckily, they met a kind innkeeper who let Mary and Joseph stay in his stable for the night. Mary gave birth to Jesus that night in a stable. She wrapped the newborn baby in a white cloth and laid him to sleep in a manger filled with hay. Some shepherds had a message from an angel to tell them that a baby boy had been born and that he was very special and they should visit him. They took him a lamb as a gift.
We want all of our children at Christ Church to show feelings of joy, satisfaction, contentment, and fulfilment. Jesus came for us to experience life in all its fullness. |

We can be happy by trusting in God and knowing that he has a wonderful and perfect plan for us. We can be happy that his plan will give us hope and help us to prosper. |

Zacchaeus
Summary This story is about Zacchaeus who was a tax collector. He was hated by the Jews because he cheated them out of their money to keep some of it for himself. The people did not like him because of this. When Jesus came to town, Zacchaeus was eager to see him and climbed a tree so that he could. Jesus spotted him and asked if he could stay at his house. This upset the people. After this Zacchaeus realised he had been wrong and changed his ways.
We want all of our children at Christ Church to be their authentic self and celebrate their identity without fear. |
We can be inclusive by proudly recognising that our school community speaks different languages, possess a variety of skin tones, cultures and social classes. But for all who are members of Christ’s family, race, rank, and gender lose their significance. We can embrace our differences and celebrate them, as long as “above all” we clothe ourselves “with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony”. |

The parable of the Sower
Summary The parable of the Sower and the Seeds is a metaphor for learning and receiving the word of God. When the sower throws his seeds onto dry ground, among thorns, and onto rocks, they do not grow. It is only when he throws them on good soil that he yields a crop. Many interpret this to mean that knowledge can only be absorbed when it is accepted without judgement, worry or ignorance.
We want all of our children to show forgiveness, compassion , accept others and practise gratitude. |
We can nurture each other and our community by providing food, protection, comfort, or support. Creating safe, nurturing places where all children can grow and develop their unique gifts. We all have different talents and God-given gifts, but they are all important and can be used for God's kingdom. |

Moses parting the Red Sea
Summary Moses guided the Israelites out of Egypt on their way to the Promised Land. Pharaoh and his army pursued them. When the Israelites reached the Red Sea Moses stretched out his hand and the waters divided, allowing his followers safe passage. The Egyptians followed them but God again commanded Moses to stretch out his hand and the sea engulfed the army.
We want all of our children to reflect, be faithful to their own identity and to stand up for what they believe. |
